Hurricane Learning Package for Students
Hurricane Strike!, a multimedia learning package for
middle-school students, is now available on the web:
http://meted.ucar.edu/hurrican/strike/
This package integrates disaster safety and preparedness
with science instruction, providing an engaging interactive
learning environment. It also dovetails with science and
safety content in the American Red Cross Masters of Disaster
curriculum.
Middle school teachers face a tremendous challenge
covering mandated learning objectives while also striving to
provide meaningful enrichment and keep kids engaged. The
Hurricane Strike! lessons help you do this with content and
activities that support some of the core National Science
Education Standards for middle school students.
