• Benefits of the trunked radio system

During any emergency situation, the ability to communicate is vital and can only be assured through redundant systems. The 800 MHz trunked radio system, currently maintained by the Nassau County Office of Emergency Management, supplements normal communication methods (hard-wired phones, cell phones, fax, e-mail, etc.) allowing for a direct communication network between the Nassau County Office of Emergency Management, Nassau BOCES District Superintendents and Nassau County School Districts.
